Musa Mohammed · · Hausa · 0:00
What if music was more than entertainment? What if it could preserve history, speak to society, and capture the struggles of an entire continent? In this episode of ReEngage Voices, Musa Mohammed reflects on the fading tradition of Rubutattun Wakokin Hausa and the remarkable legacy of legendary performer Abubakar Ladan Zaria—whose songs addressed African independence, social values, political struggles, corruption, and more. He also shares his thoughts on artists such as Barmani Choge and the importance of keeping this musical tradition alive. A conversation about music, memory, history, and the voices we risk losing.
